Remember when the Tacoma Grille made it look like a Jeep product?

That new grill looks gray when compared to the black plastics on the front end. Why mismatch? Did Toyota buy stock in plastidip?

Lucky for Toyota, expanded metal comes in a lot of flavours..... should last them through 2030 at least.

That front end always looked slightly funky to me. Not enough to ever actually do anything about it. The need for a winch did cause it to wind up being hid behind an ARB though. :D

Except for the coffee saucer sized emblem, kinda diggin' on the limited grille style on the 2020's though.

I was actually think about the 1st Gen refresh grilled. I think a Vertical bar design would look good on a 3rd Gen IMO.

Somebody years back told me that the Jeep people over at Chrysler were not very happy that Toyota used the vertical slots, which Jeep considers a trademark. I guess that the Tacoma (2001-2004) having 8 slots vs the Jeep Wrangler 7 slots was the only thing that prevented a law suite!

not soon enough for the ranger to steal a good portion of their market share with that smooth 2.3l 10 speed setup.

Here's a little teaser on the 2020 TRD Pro headlights. "TRD" is illuminated on the left, "Pro" on the right (driver side).

Size-wise, they'll fit in stock 3rd gen location, but will need an additional bracket. Plug will not match for electrical.

I haven't torn one of these down, so your guess is as good as mine as to the internals.

They look amazing! So, they will not be a direct plug and play for the connections/wires for the 16-19 Taco's?

Great spy shot! If true then that would suck it's not plug and play. It also appears the MESO customs lower light plate will still be compatible; black on black with the new lights would look super sick. Probably way too much money to spend to try and fit those on the current Tacos. BUMMER.

Correct. Different plugs - different internal wiring.
