    Hello everyone!

I’m looking to purchase my first Toyota Tacoma in a few months. I’m not mechanically savy but many of my friends are and they suggested the Tacoma. I would love to get some insight as to what generation of Tacoma would be the best option. I have a budget of $15000. I love in Denver and work in construction, also a father of two kids so looking at the four door model. Any insight or advice would be greatly appreciated. Are there things to watch out for when purchasing a used model? Thanks in advance for any help.

As stated above, frame rust is the biggest issue. There are threads on this site that will tell you what to look for and how to inspect the frame before you buy.

Welcome to TW! At that price point it's probably going to be an early 2nd Gen Tacoma (2005-2010ish) with around 150k miles on it.

I found a 2009 in Denver 4 door with 210,000 miles on it for 13,500. Is this a fair price given the miles. From the looks of Tacoma’s that are maintained well they can get 400,000 miles on them. Thanks for any insight.
