I have an unlimited pass for my truck and it's BLACK. I get a :crapstorm:everytime I say my paint looks perfect. It goes through maybe 2-3 times a week. The difference is if the carwash uses lots of water and microfiber brushes vs. little water and those weed eater line brushes. Each time it gets coating of wax and really shines up. Maybe a microscope could tell if I have scratches but I can't. Dirt looks a lot worse. Underside of the truck has no rust and I live where they salt the hell out of the roads. We forget about the underside of the truck and an auto carwash usually hits that.

In summer, I'll hand wash my truck. I find it relaxing and rewarding when you stand back and look at a sparkling clean truck. But winter time it's to the car wash. In the hundreds of times I've had my three various Tacomas and other vehicles run through the car wash, I've not had a single issue (well except those short legged workers push my seat way forward) You've got to find a car wash that has good new equipment and competent management. Workers are pretty interchangeable between car washes; it's the management and equipment that makes the difference.

I go to the DIY handwash when I need to blast red clay from the undercarriage. Love the look on the next guy's face when I completely destroy the booth and pull away.

I use the Self Serve Car Wash in the winter, let's me spray the salt off the underside and I can avoid spraying around the door handles so they won't freeze.

Where I wash my truck you would only do that once. People like yourself are banned from the establishment once caught on the camera's rinsing mud/clay off in the bay's. Now if they hose the bay down afterwards nothing is said.

Signs are posted in the stalls stating "No muddy trucks" yes it is coin operated and people work there part time. Camera's are in each bay even the automatic car wash bay.

I want to point out that my most "liked" post on these forums was about masturbation. This says a lot more about you people than me!
