So I installed the 2.5” diameter series this weekend. Rears went in fine. Fronts were a pain cause my front cams were seized and I couldn’t loosen requiring me to use a long pry bar to push down the LCA enough to seat the bottom of the coilover. Ugh. Here’s a picture of the new next to the old:

So got everything back together. I left off the sway bar. Previous springs were 600lbs, these are 650lbs. Initial drive I was pleased with the minimal sway since the sway bar isn’t installed. Nose doesn’t drop in hard braking, but again these aren’t broken in. I need to tweak ride height, front is a bit high but what I like about the design is the adjustment is at the top and is easy to manipulate with the tires on.

Will report more and add more pictures but right now I’m tired from wrenching.

how much lift did you gain after the upgrade? And do you still have a rake with that RTT back there?? i have a camper shell, a Decked tool box, and about 150-200lbs of tools a gear i keep in the back. I want a ~2in lift while maintaining factory rake...

what is your rear setup?? AAL or full pack replacement? I have a similar setup minus the RTT and want to maintain the factory rake after the ~2in lift...

Full pack replacement. I went with the Dakar’s. If I were to do it again I would have custom deavers made. I got rid of my shell and switched to a tonneau with a bed rack. Here are some pictures I took for another tw member. They are ground to fender measurements. Pictures have weight of Rtt, tonneau and rack. Also with the leaf pack I have little to no sag with a fully loaded truck. Definitely the best decision I ever made with the shell and my current setup.

What? The leafs tend to make a W shape after a while of having the block on there. They just dont want to install it.

I'm not sure how much lift I got because I didn't measure beforehand. Also, I have adjusted my ride height a couple of times since my initial lift. I'd guess I'm at about 2 inches, but with easily adjustable coilovers in front and also having air bags in the back, my ride height is a bit of a moving target. :D

I tend to like a slight rake as well. On stock suspension after adding the tent and gear I was sagging in the back, probably as you are now. That's when I got the airbags. Of course then the airbags filled to around 35 psi were responsible for probably half or more of my ride quality, which sucked. I was very eager to get replacement leafs installed. If I didn't already have the airbags (now at about 5 psi), I'd probably have my full Dakar "heavy" leaf pack installed. As it is, I have one of the leafs removed and will install it once I move to an in-bed camper.

After installing the BOSS 2.5s I realized my rear airbag mount is nearly touching the shock and they are rusted and my leafs are rusted and decided to drop more cash on the Dakars HD and the Timbren bumps with the U bolt flip kit. Might as well go all out.

TOYTEC 2.5 kit, SPC UCA, N-fab side steps, TRD pro grille, FN FX PRO Wheels, BFG KO2S (265/70/17 C Rated), TRD Skid plate, Tyger Tonnue Cover, OVtune, Borla S type exhaust
2.5 kit with 3 leaf aal (overload taken out) and SPC uca's . Gained about 2 inches overall with a slight rake. Ride is much, much better than stock. Truck is sitting on an incline. Once weather is better, I'll be taking more pictures on a leveled surface.

So I’ve been running the 2.5” for a week and I can’t decide if I like it or not. Previously I had 5100s with 521600 Eibach springs which are 2.5” taller and 600lbs. They were really soft. These 2.5” diameter and 650lbs springs with no sway bar is really stiff - which is great with no sway bar but damn every road imperfection is felt. I’ve aired down my Cooper AT3s to 29psi which has helped a lot from the previous 35 then 32 psi settings. I’m wondering if a heavier tire would help. These Coopers are 38lbs and my wheels are 21 pounds - that about as light as you can get.

I’m about to make a 1,000 mile road trip. Hopefully that will help soften this setup.

Ed I'm curious why you went with the 650s? Are you running a heavy bumper or winch? I only ask because when I ordered my kit toytec suggested 650s because I have an aluminum winch bumper & winch, I'm in the process of installing now! I've been running my 2.0/ 650 set up for @ 7000 miles now & I really like the ride, I hope it gets even better with the added weight! My wheel/tire set up is heavier then yours, but that's unsprung weight so I don't know how that will affect things!

Hey, I know this was posted over a year ago, but where are you sourcing that suspension in BC? Local dealer? I've been in the habit of ordering parts to the US then picking them up, but if I can avoid that for a reasonable price I would.

I’m planning to add a bumper and winch this summer so this was a plan ahead purchase. It is loosening up now thankfully. Plus the 650 springs keep me from leaning a lot since I’ve removed my sway bar.
