So I can almost guarantee I have the most unique situation when it comes my Tacoma I’m a water meter reader! Not to be confused with the dinky “Parking Meter” reader lol. Anyway, I carry a Honda PCX 150 in the bed every single day for work, its my work vehicle! So my Tacoma is my office on wheels! It’s been a challenge making the Tacoma into a multi use camping/working vehicle but I love it! I love figuring things out to achieve maximum convinience. I’m out on that scooter rain or shine, and here in Portland it’s mostly rain, or this time of year even better, snow. I’ll continue to build this Tacoma into the ultimate work/camping/office/grocery getting vehicle there is! Hopefully I’m not the only one that thinks my job Is interesting

The city/county doesn't provide a work truck and you have to provide your own?

I don’t work directly for one city. It’s my own company and a different company sets me up with contracts through certain city’s in the area that I read water meters for. I know it sounds crazy but doing it on a scooter, even in the worst of weather, is MUCH faster than a truck. The more meters I read the more money I make! I read on average 1,200 meters in a 8 hour day.

Yep! There’s route that are much faster than that too, and some much slower. I do not wear a pedometer, but man that would be cool to see! On my feet ALL day.

Lol That’s how I felt before I had this job!! Unfortunately not as of right now, this job is super hard to get into. I was told it’s like a cult, hard to get in, and once you’re in, you’re in for good!!

That's a nice job you got and it seems you are doing very well. Thats a lot of meters per day. I have to use a Tundra as my work vehicle, and sometimes I have to take a boat out for a lake test to confirm proper repairs were made. During hunting season the ATV business picks up and I have to test ride the machines after repair. I have been at my current location for nearly 8 years, and I do like my job.

Hey I put a PCX in my Taco too! Rode it 3 hours South to pick up the truck. They're great little bikes.

That must be how ours works too, seeing as it's located in my basement, and you need to shine a light in it to see the number.
