Duh. I told her she's not allowed to buy a 2wd runner.

It's not my runner so idk. I don't think she cares too much. I told her she can always buy Clazzios if she doesn't want cloth.

No locker, she's never going to need it. I doubt it'll see more than a fire road. Beaches maybe and snow in the road, that's about it.

I told her probably used, but I don't know what her budget is. But that price is pretty small, so might as well just buy new for about a 6k difference

Not sure when she's ready to buy, but I will let her know when the time comes that this is also an option.

Hold on. Dude corrected me. SR5 is two tone whether softex or cloth. Offroad is solid.

Also the interior trim is different. Off-road premium has carbon fiber interior accents. Not sure about the others. Maybe brushed silver plastic.

    Interior was important to us.

How much difference in suspension/gadgets are there between SR5 and OR? Is it just the locker and crawl control?

Also, whats the difference between SR5 and SR5 premium? Stuff like dual climate control, upgraded head unit, blind spot monitors, stuff like that?

Yeah. Pretty much the same, I believe. SR5 has the 4wd dial but off-road has actual shift lever. I opted out of any dealer add ons. No KDSS and no sunroof. Got mine with 1 mile on the odo, let the dude drive it home while I drove his truck.

First day, first drive with Eleanor. So little, so stock.

Keep dreaming for tech package the stuff, there’s no blind spot monitoring or anything like that. Not sure about head unit. Nope on climate control.

Limited will get you dual zone and backup sensors but that’s it.

So from what I just gathered from Toyota premium gets you:
softex heated seats, turn signal indicator on side mirrors, optional moonroof, auto dimming rear view mirror.

    Am I missing anything else?

    Uhhh maybe the interior trim.

I have all of those things, minus moonroof. Because I don’t need more sun/skin cancer.

If only a $5-6k difference between new and used...better APR (for good credit of course) if financing would be a reason to go new over used. Could breakeven or even come out better over the long haul with a better APR.

I hadn't done much research but I figured one of the 10 people in this thread that bought runners would be able to weigh in  I don't know enough about her financials but if it were me I'd say fuck it and spend the extra $6k. The thing will last damn near a lifetime, so might as well

Lowest rate I could find last year was 2.74% on new. Toyotas lowest was 6% for new. I think used rates at the credit union was 5.74% or something

What’s the difference/benefits of a 4wd shift lever and knob?

Knob has an electronic actuator. The lever physically shifts.

From my understanding nothing on the newer ones because they are still electronically controlling the actuator in the transfer case, so basically looks.

Premium has heated seats and the turn indicators on the side mirror. XP is a southeastern trim that they markup for more money.

So it used to be one less electronic thing to break or malfunction, now it’s just looks. Got it. Bummer
