Its probably only due to the fact I haven't put very many miles on the truck since install. And even less miles off road. Just ordered a pair of JBA UCAs, and am going to have them installed when I get the suspension lowered

Yeah, Headstrong Offroad stated a 650# coil is fine to run on the 6112s. As far as I know you can get them through Headstrong

What clip setting are you at with the 650s?

    Matt here chiming in....

This is not what we said at all, we said there are 2 part numbers for higher spring rate coils that Bistein offers, the 650 coils and 700 coils. We told you the 700 coils were not intended to be used with the 6112s but only 8112s. Now the 650 coils are listed, per Bilstein, to be used with both the 6112 and 8112 coilovers. Now if people on here want to run 700 coils with the 6112 that's up to them, personally I wouldn't but that me. Also we have not personally tested this set-up, don't plan to (we already have data which supports our decision) and thus we will not recommend running the 700 coils with the 6112s. What other shops do and recommend is up to them and I would think they likely did some type of testing (lower spring seat test to failure) in order to make a decision which they stand by.

I have Eibach coils, I don't know if that is what is normally ran on the Bilstien. But here is a copy of what Headstrong Offroad told me. Take it as you like.

"Bilstein does not make 700 lb coils for the 6112’s and if they did we personally would not pair this spring rate with a snap ring configuration. Bilstein does have a 650 spring rate coil (part # 53-291387) and this coil is approved to be used with the 6112’s, but the 700 lb coils (part # 53-291394) is only approved for be used on the 8112 coilovers. So right off the bat you really should not be running those coils on your 6112s at all. With them preloaded that much I would be extremely worried about a lower spring seat failure. Also at the lift you are at you are going to destroy your front end if you have a 4x4 and I would imagine your quality of ride is terrible, especially since you probably have zero droop at all with the front end lifted this high."

Bingo! Pretty much was I was thinking when I hear you running 700 springs at the highest setting. I wasn't even thinking of the possible failure of the lower c clip. That would be exciting. If I were you I would get a set of 650 springs and go setting 4 and go from there. Do it ASAP too. Also cant really compare to 3rd gens because I believe the lift on the 3rd gen 6112's is less aggressive since they come 1" higher from the factory.

How much lift does that give? Cuz it's looking like I may have to drop down to 650# springs.

In for answers... Curious myself. I put the 2nd gens 6112's on my 3rd gen due to the 3rd gens not being available. I didn't measure and am unsure of how much lift I got, but seeing how my 265/75's fit the wheel well pretty well, I am guessing 2" or less. I could use another 1/2" (insert that's what she said joke here).

Love it when a company takes the time and defends their reputation.

Marie, I continually read good things about you. Keep up the good work. I'm selling my spare truck and putting that money into suspension. Headstrong is where I'll be going. Thanks for all your time.

I actually never disagreed with Head strong. But I did repeat on the forum what I was told by them. Which was that the 700# spring is not suited for the 6112s. It's all spelled out clearly in thier correspondence I copied and posted. They have been very helpful, and I appreciate the time they take to help thier customers. :)

On the 6/5 setting with 650 coil. I got a lil over 2” of lift. I’m 38” give or take from ground to top of my fender

Wasn't trying to take a jab at you at all brotha. Was just reiterating how great and appreciative we all are for HS's time. They don't leave ya hanging, actually care and chime in when they can.
