Anybody have any thoughts on the discrepancy between the dash and Entune display? 18.7 vs 16.6. I just noticed it today and was mildly curious. All this time I thought I was getting pretty crappie MPGs. Now who knows, just average it

No idea about the Entune because I never look at it but since I bought my 2019, I’ve used the mileage keeper app which you input the odometer and gallons in. It tracks MPG for the last tank full and lifetime mpg. The dash mpg meter for the tank has been usually within .2-.4 mpg of the app which is doing the mathematical miles/gallons.

The dash meter on this truck is the most accurate I’ve had on a vehicle. Just as a comparison, the dash meter on my 2016 IS350, which I use the same app, is commonly 1-1.5 mpg off, every tank.

If you zoom in on the picture the dash says 18.7 and the Entune reads 16.6. I’m not concerned about the difference, more curious on how the information is logged or calculated between the two devices. I thought someone might have insight on the system functionality.

IIRC the dash one is the tank average and the Entune is trip average

I've never seen that one on the headunit, but can say that my calculated MPGs are always 0.5mpg less than shown for the Tank Average in the instrument screen. That is good enough for me to predict the actual range after the refill light pops on.

Interesting, another little detail that is discovered. Overall it’s a neat system. I normally pay no attention to MPGs or gas price per gallon. It is what it is to me. I do make some comparisons to my wife’s 4Runner so it puts mine and hers about the same tank average.

Can’t be seen in this picture but the range was the same between both screens FYI.

neophyte mpg-er: how do you get the speedometer display version? mine pops up of its own accord from time to time.

in any event, anything better than 13.3 mpg is an improvement over the Gray Whale (2015 GMC savanna 666 liter v8)

I’m having the same issue...eco app on the head unit always displays much better mpg...set mine to trip mpg many times, same result hopefully entune is right, or I’m getting dump truck level mpg’s5613325A-71B7-4799-A2EF-BAB024A12C83.jpg

Ok. Real funny. Toyota has cameras and live satellite signal on all vehicles performance and usage. I was just thinking about the tank avg cluster 18.7 mpg and 17.2 entune trip mpg yesterday using ECO back and forth trip avg, tank avg, whatever avg. Avg discrapencies everywhere. Do you work for Toyota Vonhetzer? I think about something with the taco and that next morning it's posted. Real weird. Makes me uncomfortable. Enough with the spying on Tacoma fun!!!!:spy:
