    Howdy y'all!

Here recently I've had a ton of upheaval in my life; just moved from TX to CO. New job, new home, and new(er) truck! I've enjoyed a lot of what my older Silverado Z71 had to offer (a cowboy Cadillac for sure) but it was time to move on.

I found a really well set-up '14 Taco TRD set up just like I'd have done myself. My only gripe so far is that Tacos really keep their value. The truck was a little more than I'd like to have paid for it, but it was new enough that I knew I'd be able to hang on to it for a lot of years, and it was built enough to appeal to my inner 7 year old. I'm looking forward to using the truck as intended, for getting into the rough stuff for a little adventure.

I have to hand it to the previous owner; they kept the truck in absolutely fantastic condition. It was clear they really liked this truck. I'd be surprised if it wasn't already on this forum.

Thanks! I'd like to get a very small bumper bar out front. I have a roof basket for the topper but need to get the cargo carrier to mount it. And I need to add a few offroad lights; I'm amazed how dark it is in places out here!

Not off the top of my head, but I don't mind getting the numbers for you a little later!

Its funny; I'd have never chosen those wheels myself, but they sure look good on that truck. The fitment is pretty good, though they do sit just a touch outside the fender flares.

Just a little poke outside the fender is the perfect stance IMO and those tires fill the wells perfectly

CEMENT? I'm an old guy and new to the forum (obviously), wazzat mean?

I'm not sure if you're referring to a manual trans or the auto. I always prefer a manual, but this is an automatic. I opted to go that direction for three reasons: The first is that I've got plenty of stop and go traffic between Colorado Springs and Denver. The second is that the truck's ability to manage energy is probably superior to my own with the advances in tech these days (I'd never have considered an auto on an older vehicle). I'm not sure that second one is truly accurate, but it helps me sleep at night ;) The third reason is that I have a sporty little car with a 5sp gearbox and that satisfies my manual gearbox needs. :D

    A question to all:

I'm sure this will be travesty to some, but the suspension feels a bit over-dampned which makes it a bit firmer and less capable of quick articulation than I'd care for. It isn't prohibitive by any means, but a slightly softer ride would be appreciated. That's always been a gripe with my prior Tacos as well. Is it over sprung or over dampned? Is there a solid alternative that'll improve ride a bit?

Aside from the road muck it kicks up on the body, I'd tend to agree. I really have to give it to the previous owner; they had a great eye for proportion and I like how the mods are tasteful and purposeful. I love how clean the truck looks. I wish I could take credit!

It’s the color of my truck, it was a hard to get color. Now Toyota has made it more available. 6 speed manual transmission, its a love- hate relationship. I have always had manuals in my Tacomas, keeps me young.

If you are in the 50 year old range, and have a good sense of humor, check out the 50’s thread. A lot of great people on there.

    Ah, I see.

    So, Cement...

I passed up an amazing deal on a brand new Cement TRD Pro. It took every ounce of restraint I had. An older couple bought the truck and he passed away 10 days after ownership. His wife brought it back, and they were good about it, and they were reselling it for $17k under MSRP. It was fully loaded, custom wheels (for some reason this dealer has a relationship with a wheel/tire vendor) a cap, and a roof rack. It even had the snorkel (not sure if all the Pro line does). Super cool truck, but more than I wanted to pay and I'd feel too bad if I damaged it treating it like I knew I was going to be treating it.

Anyway, that's a great color and looks GREAT on those trucks!

Awesome. I'm close enough to 50 where it doesn't matter that I'm not. *sigh*
