It has the plastic chromed ring on top of the boot and it needs to be affixed to the knob otherwise it will flop around. I think I will be able to remove the retaining collar from the oem knob and fit it to the new.one.

There’s an old boating truck to tracking down leaks that may help. Dump baby powder all over, the leaks will show up in the powder.

Don’t have a good pic yet, but I just swapped out my stock 6112 coil springs with 700# eibach springs from wheelers. Holy cow does it ride amazing now. It rode better than stock before, but it is so much smoother now. I was expecting a rough ride since I don’t have my sliders, winch and SSO bumper installed yet. No nose diving with braking, body roll is even less, potholes disappear... very happy. If anyone is on the fence about doing this swap, I highly recommend it. Don’t wait to get armor, winch, etc. it won’t affect it in a negative way. At least, not in my opinion...

They’ll settle and soften up eventually, but it still rides so much better.

So, I ended up putting it back on for now. The compression adjustment definitely makes a difference but there is still a good amount of body roll. It is not the boat my 2010 was with no adjustment but it is noticeable for sure. I really like going fast on dirt roads with trac off and getting a little sideways and I like the tight handling my truck has when cornering, no sway bar definitely changes that feel. I think for people that wheel more than me on very rough slow terrain it would be worth while. When I go somewhere for a serious off-road trip I will probably drop it. But for most of the dirt roads around here the changes in ride quality weren’t noticeable enough for me to keep it off.

Where did you get that tailgate handle from? I didn’t know there was an option to replace the Toyota plastic one!

Hi! I got it from Leisure West: http://www.leisurewest.net/ but it sounds like a company is making them down in southern California.
Here are a couple of videos from a different store near Sacramento that sells them too. I love the kit because it can be set up a couple of different way and be pulled out in about five minutes and you get the whole bed back. Very cool!
