I need new trailer hitch receiver locks and I thought I'd trade up to the BoltLock https://www.amazon.com/BOLT-7023584-Receiver-Lock-Toyota/dp/B00C5T0JCI/ref=au_as_r?_encoding=UTF8&Make=Toyota%7C76&Model=Tacoma%7C1037&Year=2018%7C2018&ie=UTF8&n=15684181&s=automotive&vehicleId=3&vehicleType=automotive that is suppose to work with Toyota keys. However, they website only references up to 2017 vehicles and other websites that sell them are not sure if their adaptable tumbler system works with the 2018 ignition Taco ignition, It DOES work with the 2017 Taco ignition key.

Main question is: Is the 2018 key the same as the 2017 key or have they change it up?

Yes, I know I can call them on Monday, but wanted to order today if possible with compatibility confirmation today as I need to tow early next week.

My 2018 key is the one with the x through it, but I am an auto with push button start.Screenshot_20190309-182310.jpg

I installed an Extang Encore tonneau cover on my truck this afternoon. It also has a BOLT lock. It works perfectly with my ignition key. I've got a 2019 SR5 Access cab. So chances are good that the Boltlock receiver lock will work. :fingerscrossed:

I've got it for my '17 MT key and it works great. I don't think the key has changed

worst case, buy it and return it?

It will not work for 2017 and up with push button start. I had a bolt lock for my 2016 because the tailgate key was cut like the other 3 keys.
I have a new one for my 2019 because I coded it to my 4Runner key.
