Very well said OP, im with you!!! I totally LOVE my 2018 TRD Sport and have no complaints whatsoever. I remember when the 2nd gen came to the scene many people complaint allot and the same owners praising the truck latter on. The 3rd gen complaints i read often are laughable the majority of the time, obviously excluding the real ones. I haven't heard as of yet someone being stranded due to major issues from the motor/trans. Just buckle up b/c you going to get hit by few haters!

People sure do complain a lot about these trucks. I love mine. Had a 2nd gen manual SCLB, now a 3rd gen auto DCSB. I like my third gen more...

I'm gonna revive this positive thread. Because positive threads shouldn't be allowed to die. Yes l own a 2nd gen. But I own it because that's what I ended up buying. I never thought of 1st Gen vs 2nd gen vs 3rd gen when l bought it. I bought the truck that l liked and could afford. I sat in a 3rd gen and thought it looked really nice inside and out. But I couldn't afford a new 3rd gen, so I looked at older Tacoma's that were more affordable. The one l bought fit the bill, so here I am. Without the 2nd gen there wouldn't have been a 3rd gen
.Without the1st gen there wouldn't have been a 2nd gen and so on. I'm just glad that the Tacoma is still being made. Isn't that the main point. Each gen changes We all may like one gen more than the other, because of price or looks or features. Whatever that reason may be, is personal choice. But actually "hating" one gen over the other is an extreme position l think.
Anyway. I really enjoy my Tacoma like many others of you do. Some of you may not, but my feelings are that that is the minority of owners.

No vehicle is percent. None are without some kind of flaw. That's just that way it had always been. Every vehicle I have ever owned had something that wasn't perfect I never expect perfection from anything or anyone.

    Cheers all
