A section of I-95 north of me has been recently repaved so I did a couple mile run on it. The truck was 100% quieter! As soon as I hit the pavement that wasn't redone the noise returned. The highways up here (Highways? There is like one highway and it carries all the truck traffic) are in brutal shape and I'm pretty sure that is the major reason for the roar. Some weird resonance frequency is being generated by the pavement. I remember the Honda ad where they grooved the pavement and were able to play songs (!) just by driving on it.

The low speed 20-25 mph vibration is still here and I will have the dealer check it out when I bring it in @5,000 miles.

So my first 2019 SR5 had the vibrations in the steering wheel at 20-25 mph. And it drove me nuts. Toyota called it "normal" and refused to do anything about it. After a month of the truck I traded it for another SR5. All Tacoma's I test drove (2-3 and at different dealerships) have a slight vibration at 20 mph, but mine was much more and it was fustrating. So I traded in for one that did so at what I call "normal" levels. I would love to know a complete fix though. If you FIND ONE, let me know. It's hard to tell if its the way the engine throttles down or up, or leaf spring problems, driveline problem, idk.
