So I asked myself, "Self, what have you got that you can use until you get around to a permanent solution?" :frusty:

Here is what I came up with:20190310_093137[2].jpg

This is with the seat all the way to the rear. The small containers are almost exactly the height of the jack cubbyhole. They might serve OK to support a plywood platform. My local Lowe's has them for $2.98 each. I know this because after trying the idea with some that I already had, I went to get 2 more this morning.

    20190310_093211[1].jpg

The big container is also one that I already had. I think they're about $8.99 each.

What size are those small containers? Never mind I just saw the picture. LOL!

Yeah I saw it after I posted that last post. Also see your truck has the Munchkin seats. I have the Utility package with my truck so no back seats and I would need containers another inch taller. My bin doors/lids have a raised ridge around the edge all the way around. Picture below is not my truck but is the same.

Wish my double cab was just bare like this back there. Only carry around the pooches and never humans, would be nice to have a lower load height. Has anybody ever removed the seating from a double cab?

I have read of guys taking the back seats out of double cabs on here.. Then you can build or have built a carpeted/board/floor to hide those mini storage bins.. Ford a man can order the new Ranger without the back seats and choose between carpet or vinyl flooring.

If I owned a double cab I would have the rear seats taken out for sure. Just me that rides in the truck so no need for them. A guy would take a hit when or if he traded the truck off though. But that would be fine with me.

No need to remove them. I removed the cup holders between the back seats.

FWIW i found these in Home depot. Cheap as hell and pretty good quality.
    https://www.homedepot.com/p/Sterilite-15-Qt-Latching-Box-Set-of-2-14931A04/306700799

For the height to match utility boxes for a flat surface, I had to remove rubber floor mats and place on carpet otherwise they were a little too high.
Not industrial strength but perfect for occasional use. and the right color for me (clear body and gray top)

edit: They are snug with seats all the way back so I slide them out to open lids.

I have a 2005 ac. I would like to put in headrest like the newer ac have for my young son. He will soon be in a booster seat and I'm terrified of the thought of his head hittiing the rear glass in a accident.. Anyone one know if this is possible and a bolt on mod?? Any suggestions???

I filled one entire side of the footwell back there w/ rectangular 2 and 3L water bottles. The other footwell has a mishmash of tools. A cheap polyester rectangular sleeping bag goes over top of everything, to keep prying eyes in check. Thick, cheap sleeping bags are great for tired, muddy Labradors to lie on. And hide your hunting longguns.

I don't know. I have a 2010 if that helps. I know the interior has changed a couple times. I can take some pictures for you tomorrow

Anyone figure out a way to properly store or hang stuff like jackets, rain coat, golf umbrella, hats, etc.? I just have mine thrown on the floor in the back of my access cab, but would like to come up with a better way of making it neater without sacrificing the rear view.

Nothing too brilliant, but a headrest hanger might be a good start.

I currently use these hooks for groceries. But I was thinking something like a molle panel on the back rest where folded clothing and other stuff can be hung. I really like the pull-out drawers that a few people have made, as well. Just wondering if someone has encountered an alternative for those of us who aren't DIY inclined.
