The rain and weather, are going to make most of it go away.

Erosion is constant. Honestly, every time a single truck goes through there, it only adds to the erosion. The crushing of gravel, the added acidity due to human parasites.

Meh, I dont use it very often. Never have. I mean, I still have one. I follow a lot of truck stuff. Never really cared for TacomaBeast's style or products.

But, I'm not up in arms enough about a couple chicken scratches on a rock that add up to the same amount of unintended erosion as tossing a stone 20 feet.

Yeah, actually No. There's similar historic "pictographs" in that area that are scribed using a similar technique. They haven't gone away in 400-500 years, in fact we don't have scientific reason to believe they will within the time frame of our human existence.

You mean, other humans have put "pictographs" on these rocks?!?!?!?!

    Oh my GAWWWWD.

And that tradition has now carried on 400-500 years?

Also, where are those pictographs. Inside, in the shade? On the side of rocks? On the top?

Are they as sharp and clear as the day they were done? Or are they faded? Are they deeper?

I'm guessing the crew member didnt put a whole lot of effort into digging that in to that rock. Its probably very shallow, and the rock he used was probably softer than the rock that is now "defaced". Now, I'm no Geologist, but I have taken a few classes. The erosion is increasing...and does every time the wind blows and water is present.

Instagrammers and some youtubers are basically strip mining their life for fame and its always a race to the bottom. This isn't surprising at all and I can only hope people take useful lessons from it.

Tread Lightly and Leave No Trace aren't difficult concepts, but I guess they don't get the views.

The problem is, it's not a tradition that continued. Those features and symbols were much different. So different that folks like you scribble over them today.

No one knows and of that information about where Tacomabitch put his scribbles and it was just mud remember? where ya been?

When you etch sandstone it's actually removing material, so in reality the tool has to be harder than the sandstone. Fuck really? I can't even remember what I was going to say next because that statement was so stupid.

Honestly, after looking at it again, it looks like fucking sidewalk chalk.

Not a lot of material was removed.

Dont end up at the bottom of a rope over it.

    No it's mud.
Acutally that's that coloration of the rock under the surface of untold years where flash floods once caused a natural coloration deposited by various iron oxides. That won't be there after they sand them "srcibbles" off. Besides that color stuff is ugly crap what makes slick rocks more dangerous for us.
who am I kidding, your post count makes you more righters

The petroglyphs were carved very long ago by people who took far better care of the land than most people today do. They tell their stories or history or other things of importance to them. We have paper and pencils and computers and all sorts of things we can use to write and draw without using rocks as a medium. This is very different.

The issue isn't the amount of time the carving will last, it's the utter lack of respect for property that is not ones own. We all share that part of our country, and as such should not disrespect it or destroy it so that others may also enjoy it. If you cannot respect nature, you should stay out of it. I've seen too many stupid people do stupid things that I have had to fix in order to protect our natural areas that I get pretty upset at people who cannot respect them.

I have come across totally empty campsites with smoldering fires that I've had to properly put out lest they start the next wildfire (and they very well could have, we have had lots of horrible ones here). I've seen some moron nearly start a campground on fire because she thought pouring kerosene directly into a fire that was "getting low" was a good idea, then her husband was trying to beat out the flames on the ground with a towel. Guess what the towel soaked up? Yeah kerosene, so he's swinging a flaming towel around. At least I was there with my shovel to show him what dirt is used for. These same people had their kids there who were "bored" and drained their Escalade's battery playing their playstation. I had to jump them. People like that have no business out camping. Same with the Tacomabeast guys - they have no business being out there if they can't have respect for what they don't own.
