I wouldn't even pay $5 for a used trailer ball. Depending on the brand, I would pay like $3. We sell trailer balls at hitchweb for $5-$10. If you still haven't bought one and plan on spending $5, buy one new. Let me know the size of your coupler and I'll help you out. Or you can take a look at the link here: Trailer Balls

Sorry for the late reply, I don't get notifications :( Assuming you probably found a trailer ball. I would have given you 5% off.

no haven't bought one yet. I was going to take one of the posters recommendation to get the trailer, or go to the place rather and see which trailer I'm going to get then match the type hitch I need. I will get the ball back from my co worker when I am to go to the place and try it then.

I don't think its that serious to match it up or maybe it is lol. The one he has can be reversed as to taking off the ball and flipping it over.

he said 10 bucks actually. So unless you have something better or in better shape and depending on pricing to ship to me. His did have some rust on nut and washer, a little on the ball.

I just bought a utility trailer last week an 8x5. I got the 8” drop hitch for it, a 1 7/8” ball. I tried putting the hitch in the receiver but would stop at the 2” mark. The hole wasn’t lining up. I looked inside and there was rust along the sides. We tried pounding it out with a screwdriver because the chisel wouldn’t reach back that far. So we got a sledgehammer and beat it on lol it went then. I used the trailer on Saturday and everything was fine

an 8" drop? wow, 4" should be plenty. just be careful on low curbs and roads, gonna scrape ground often

Didn’t have any trouble with it at all I figured I needed it with the 2” lift I had put on. Plus new shocks it works just fine. I went on a 200 mile round trip Saturday with no problems
