why? he almost always had a 100$ off coupon going so it was the same price as anywhere else that sells them.

Because it seems people are under the impression they're his product. All he's doing is what everyone else who builds a business through Instagram is doing. Become relevant on social platforming then rebranding Chinese stuff to become an "entrepreneur"

If you want an extreme example, google "Soulja Boy Game Console". Kinda similar imo.

not everyone is that way, most probably know he's just rebranding. but guess what? offer it at a lower price, free shipping, easy access because so many use instagram now...and boom you got a good product. even if the lower price was because of a coupon. heck, most people feel better that they "found" a coupon to use and got some savings. mind tricks man. plus, some folks like me don't trust ebay, and won't use it. whereas buying from him felt better because he put his face out there all the time and let you know who he was and just made it easy.

I've never bought anything of his, but I would. Just don't do much for cosmetic stuff so never have.

Fair point. However, i'd rather trust eBay (or Paypal, whatever) with my money over some guy who might not have financial backing just because of an Instagram account. Different strokes for different folks I guess. eBay, Amazon, etc have certain both mass rating and refund systems. He's probably sourcing them from the same person you'd buy them from, and is just introducing himself as a middle man. I'd be surprised if he had direct sourcing on the headlights from China, maybe Alibaba, but I could be proven wrong easily if I am. Smart business tactic taking advantage of his situation? Yeah. Still don't think it's the most honest thing of all time.

edit: In case anyone cared, Alibaba for the headlights, but its kinda getting off topic:

    Couldn't find the exact headlights

yeah I get you, I think he actually accepts PayPal so you have that safety too.

heck I bought a tent from ChandlerDoom on here, from pictures only, never met the guy, and he drove to my hometown to hand deliver it. guess what? same tents other companies get from China, he just didn't brand them and offered them at an affordable price. easy peasy.

not everyone is a scam artist. can't go around not trusting anyone, that's the mentality that ruins this world.

I doubt anyone has said it yet. But I haven't read all 62 pages of this thread.

Those guys make beards look bad.

Or, wanna be beards... look bad.

This story is all over Facebook too. They've pissed off a lot of people. There are too few places to go off-road and sight see as it is. We don't need Uncle Sam closing more trails because of stupid shit like this.

Definitely, it's a free market and as a consumer, I'm ok with people like Tacoma Beast existing. I guess the point is that his product really isn't much different than any other aftermarket products out there, which is kinda disappointing. Hell, even Kanye West's shoes are unique to his brand. Maybe Tacoma Beast will get there one day if they survive this fallout.

Yep. I think they're losing members because of it too.

Censorship on any forum (be it TW, Facebook, IG, Media) is a big deal these days. It seems like admins on many of those FB groups just delete posts and nobody ever bothers to explain why. And therefore people get pissed off. It actually creates more problems than it solves.
