I purchased my 2009 TRD Off-road in December of 2016. I had alwaysdreamed off owning an off-road Toyota truck since I was a little kid and watching "Back to the Future" seeing Marty McFly's beautiful black Toyota. I ended getting a pristine white truck for under $20k with 83k miles on the odometer.



I was happy with it stock, but joining Tacomaworld of course did not help. It all started after my first wheeling trip with some Tacomaworld members and the Heart of Texas off-road club and a four-day excursion in Big Bend National Park.



I learned that my departure angle and suspension travel wasn't enough for the type of wheeling I'd be interested in. I ordered the complete OME 3" with 886 front coils, Nitrochargers with rock guards and Dakar leaf springs. I also had 255/85r16 Cooper ST-MAXX tires installed to get a little taller and improvethose angles some.



I finally was able to test out my setup on a TTC off-road trip to Hidden Falls. I learned that I was slightly rubbing the cab mount, my approach angle was adequate, I needed the capabilities of a winch because I was hitting trails that were gnarly and my departure angle still sucked (Damn you tow package)

My response was ordering the ARB Deluxe Winch Bumper, M8000S Winch, 4xInnovations sliders and the 4xInnovations high clearance rear Bumper with tire swingout.

I had 4Wheel Parts do the front bumper install for convenience reasons, but if you're considering this route, I'd recommend you find a cheaper install alternative as I paid at least $1k more than I should have going this route.



After the bumper install, I needed to get foglights, and on that note, i figured I'd replace my headlamp housings (one was melted due to using a small-guage jumper cable). I ordered the Spyder headlights from Tacomabeast. I also ordered the Bajadesigns complete adapter set from Paranoid Fabrications. After installing the headlights, my wife told me to order matching taillamps, so I placed another order from Tacomabeast.
