After messing with this thing for a while, and allot of back and forth measurements, I finally managed to get the snorkel installed.

Thanks @CXYyuppie Negative not ready for anything, just some cheap insurance after I tossed the fender liners. The air box was filthy after the past 2 months on 35’s so I had to do something about it. Still no front locker and gears, so I can’t do everything the cool guys do. :(

Does anyone know of a bug screen to be installed behind the grill? I live in the southern section of Louisiana. We have a lot of bugs. In the spring and fall we have these little black “love bugs” that swarm all over. They are about the size of a large mosquito. I have concerns about them covering the radiator. Any ideas?

It looks bad ass to me. I came from the Jeep world...I’m sure u know how that is. Everyone trying to measure their...stuff. Most people never even put theirs in 4x4.
Seems like the Toyota guys are much more likely to help with tips and info.

I have been going back and forth on adding a snorkel . Looks good any issues with the template for cutting holes?

Yes, definitely some issues with the template. Kinda went into it knowing about it, my buddy @Tacomania just installed his ARB Safari Snorkel last weekend, and ran into the same template issues, however nothing really you can’t handle with some common sense. I’d say just set aside some time, and be patient.

Diggin it! I like the placement, installed one on my wife’s 4runner which doesn’t really have a clean place to mount it.

Got some new wheels ordered to replace the steelies that came on my SR. Local shop that I’ve worked with in the past price matched the ones I wanted from 4 Wheel Parts, it’ll just take a week or two to get them here. Now comes the waiting game lol

After installing my Gobi rack, the back of my softopper always flapped where it meets the top of the tailgate anytime I went over 40. The Velcro they send to prevent this never seemed to stick to my truck for long. I tried several kinds and it seems like in the hot humid summer months the adhesives would always fail. Plus, Velcro wears out over time anyway. So, today after many times of saying I was going to, I stopped at Home Depot and picked up some magnets. I put a small slit in the Velcro and fed them into seam along the bottom, and boom no more flapping. Now it just falls in place and is held. When ever I open it no more tearing Velcro or pulling off the adhesive it just flaps open. One of the cheapest and easiest mods/fixes I have done, but also so damn awesome. I think softopper should seriously consider lining it with some magnets and forego the Velcro.

Nice hack! Good to know for when I buy a softopper for cheap off one of those Cali guys when they go back to tuning Honda Civics and shit.
