My MPG's very so much its hard to tell what i am getting! Running 1,05 87 performance, Tires are 34" and re geared 4.88's steel skids front to back , RTT, Slimline front winch bumper. I can get anywhere from 13.9 to 18.4 depending on roads and my speed ,60mph or under is the best range for MPG's. My speedo is off by 6 mph so that doesnt help much! Cant wait for some custom tuning !

    K&N Intake
Whats up guys. Seeing if there is anyone else here with a 2019 tacoma 04B30. I also have the full K&n Intake. I've been through most of the thread but see a lot of older models tuning. I am wondering if anyone has one like mine having shifting issues on the 1.05 performance 91 and 93 tunes. Shifting from 2nd-3rd on the 91 tune it seems to either hit fuel cut or hits rev limiter...hesitates then shifts. Tuned to the 93 version it wont shift until I let out of the throttle.
Just to inform everyone i did go through the motions with Mat and he is on top of it. I tuned tuned the truck to the 91 performance tune and as long as I'm not being crazy WOT it works perfectly. Mat has been in Constant Communication and he informed me that everything should be fixed shortly.

My reason for this post is just to see if there are any others out there with this issue or its just me.

    Thanks.

FYI - that in Entune change does not work. A guy on Youtube tried it and tested with GPS and it made no difference. FYI.

As far as I know the only option for calibrating tire size/gear change is the Hypertech unit.

Doing that doesn't change the displayed speed on the dash. It only changes the ETA times when you use the navigation.

Just saying but gear changes on these trucks shouldn’t affect the speedo since the speed is calculated in the wheel hubs before the gears

I believe Mat said he can correct this when custom tunes are released.

Magnuson TVS1900 Supercharger with 87mm pulley, Catted OVTune dumptubes, Doug Thorley 2.5in y-pipe, custom mufflers, 76mm Tundra throttle body, 5.29 Yukon gears, JamesT custom fuel rails, Yotawerx 87mm tune, Eibach Pro Truck Stage 2 suspension. And some other stuff.
Upgraded from 1.05 91 octane tune on ECU 04B02 to stock on ECU 04B04 last night and drove my truck around for a few miles. Stock on 04B04 wasn't too bad, it was definitely better than stock on 04B02. I then upgraded to the 1.05 91 octane performance tune (running 93 octane in the gas tank). WOW what a difference. This is truly a performance tune. It is very responsive, feels significantly more powerful and definitely puts a smile on your face. I have only drove it for about 15 miles so it hasn't had a chance to reach steady state. I am quite impressed and this is a bigger difference than going from stock to 1.04. It is pretty amazing when the RPMs get up into the 6800 range, the engine just screams.

There are a couple issues though:

    1. As everyone else has mentioned the tip in is a little too aggressive, every time you accelerate from a stop even if you are taking it easy it puts you and your passenger's head back.
    2. There might be an issue with shifting from 2nd to 3rd at redline (6800 RPM). I only hit that RPM once during my test drive. It reached 6800 RPM and hung there for about 2-3 seconds then shifted.
    3. It might just be my truck but I did see an increase in misfires. Normally during a normal drive I will see 1-3 misfires in my normal morning commute (5 miles). Though I am now seeing 8-12. Keep in mind I am on the 91 performance tune but run 93 octane gas. I am not sure if I should be to worried about this though.

You have 15 miles on it, give it some time to adjust.

I’ve got a 2018 TRD Sport and it does the same exact thing on perf tunes @ extended redline when shifting. Cuts out between shifts. Sent email couple days ago. Seams to hit fuel cut off before it can shift from 1st to 2nd or 2nd to 3rd WOT. Very annoying. Ran through 2 tanks of 93 to let it settle and still does it.

Quick question, getting ready to flash. 2018 AT with TSS. I use adaptive cruise a lot (mountains + lots of traffic). This will continue to work right? Just not with the improved shifting. Or am I reading this wrong?
Also, due for a service, should I wait and let Toyota update(assuming there is one), or just do it myself?

If you're gonna flash the Performance tune, I would wait until after your service. They'll know something's up, for sure. :burnrubber:

Adaptive CC and TSS were not available for 2016 or 2017 Tacomas. So there is no way it could work on a 16 or 17.

Maybe there was a finger "gone wild" in your question?

AS for the service, wait to tune till you get home from the service if you are concerned.

2016 didn't come with TSS (Toyota Safety Sense). That was added in 2018.

If you guys have ANY mods that may alter shift point calculations (bigger tires, gears, different wheels, etc) Please be sure to include this info in the ticket if you have submitted one.
All of these things can alter shift point limits and cause this to happen.

    Oops, yes 2018 with TSS.

So will adaptive still work (but with original gearing)?
