I like the suggestion to buy a boot and charge people to take it off when they park there.

I would buy all the houses on the street to avoid conflict.

As a bonus you would get to cut all those lawns while you ride your lawnmower unable to hear people speak.

Get a can of never seize and coat the door handle with it. For slow learners, add itch powder to it.

I used to live with only on street parking. In the winter you would shovel out your car, and its spot, then mark it with a crappy plastic chair.

If upon your return a car was in “your” spot you called Vinnie. The car was removed and those people didn’t return again.

Do this. It is the only sensible reply and the only right thing to do. Call the code enforcement division of the PD and let them handle it. They will be all over it.. There are a dozen reasons not to block a driveway, among them is keeping it accessible for the Fire Dept. and Law Enforcement agencies.

I live near a school which has MANY events at the auditorium.

This happens quite a bit to me as well.

In wintertime I lay a sheet of 30x36inch paper across the front window.
    *dab lightly with wet sponge*
    Wait till they come back.

Takes quite a bit of time with the ice scraper or the defroster.

Sometimes I draw a happy face on the paper with a big “TY” and “arrow” pointing at my vehicles that are blocked in my driveway by their poor parking/attention skill.

In summertime I’m more limited because I don’t want to do any damage.

There was this one time in the warmer months when vehicles were used to park them in ... guy was unhappy that some “other” inconsiderate person only left him an inch in front and an inch in back thereby trapping his vehicle.

Many reasons this isn’t always the “best” option

    Simple example ... Older neighborhoods.
The street design and parking layouts are “grandfathered” in my neighborhood has Very Narrow streets so All of my neighbors have created off street parking for public safety ... or during events.

I personally remove my street parked autos at certain times which creates 3 available spots and a 4th “access to my off street parking” Not spot.
The problem happens when vehicle 4 shows up and LE doesn’t have a simple answer that they can figure out.

I’ve already done more than my part freeing up/creating 3 spots ... both for public safety / and self interest (minimization of potential damage to my personal property).
Still inconsiderate folks can block my access.

Laugh and imagine them as a nominee/winner of a “Darwin award”

Just get the city to tow them. I had the same issue and tried to be nice and then one day this bee-arch went off on me about she beez all allowed to park where she wanted to on the public road, to which I said, you are correct, however you are parked across our driveway and I cannot get out and then she told me to go fuck myself, so I apologized for my actions and left...
30 minutes later her car was towed by the city and I have never tried to be nice again. I would literally spend hours sometimes trying to find the owner of a vehicle parked across our drive, for no appreciation or use.
The crown Vic back wheels where actually on our apron and our driveway is only 7’6” across...
    Don’t engage with douchbags...

have them towed or ticketed … or if they are actually in your driveway /easement flatten their tires and call the law so they have to p ay !!!!! I used to live in Arrowbear Ca. On Music camp road . Was a single dad w/3 children under 5 ,one only a few months old . In the winter folks from LA / San Bernadino would try to drive up my treacherous little road thinking there was something to see , I had a 5.0HO powered CJ7 and a early hotrodded Subaru wagon at the time and it could be a challenge to get home somedays … as I was one of two year round residents at the top of the road . It was not uncommon to find a Mercedes or suv stuck in the road with the flashers on , battery dying and no one around. they would call tripleA or whoever and think a tow truck would be right there , not knowing that secondary roads are at the bottom of the list in bad weather conditions . I asked a couple different Sherriffs that I knew what to do when I can't get home because of idiots . I was told if their vehicle is unattended on a public road and blocking traffic go ahead and move it . Needless to say more than one vehicle got landed in a ditch by a snatch strap , but I always left a polite note :)

Remove all four valve stems, put son outside with lemonade/ valve stem/ compressed air stand. Better sell four new , in package ,valve stems, just to keep everything on the up and up. Advertise not as cheap as AAA, but no waiting.
