Speaking of the hood... if any of you guys ever need to replace yours I reluctantly went Rock Auto aftermarket expecting the worst. Turns out the fitment is spot on as you can tell. Just make sure you get CAPA certified. Their packaging was great, it arrived with no issue.

I have had nightmare experiences shipping and buying larger body panels in the past so figured I would share!

I bought the exact same hood for my wrecked 95. Would have been happy with it, but...

I bought it 5-6 weeks before I needed it, along with a bunch of repair parts. Hood was the last thing I opened. It was bent. Rock Auto refused any help due to me not finding the problem "while the transport company was still at my site". Basically, they say unless you open the packaging and show the delivery driver it's bent, no help. Yeah, guy is driving a tractor trailer, parked in a residential neighborhood, he's mad about being sent there, and I am going to hold him and open all the packages. Sure.

I was pi$$ed, since I have order at least $3000 in parts form them over the last 4 years rebuilding two 1995 Tacomas and keeping several family members older vehicles on the road.

Wow. Unfortunate to hear. You would think a company of that size would go above and beyond to please, especially with a 100 dollar hood...

I suppose I got lucky, I came home to it laying against my house so thankfully it was ok or I would have been in the same camp.

Yeah, the driver was 2 hrs from home, it was 6:00PM, and I was his last stop. He would have probably punched me if I tried to get him to wait. All he did was bitch about the delivery into my neighborhood.

Quality of the part was good though, as you said. BTW, their CAPA front fenders are just as good. I have bought two of them.

I’m not sure people with the same year truck, discussing different things pertaining to the vehicle the thread is about, is thread jacking... but if you think so I will stop answering questions lol. Its a fine line that would get crossed all the time in my honda-tech days.

I always followed a rule of thumb that general discussion could exist in long term request threads, but not direct question threads. Example... I wouldnt be talking like this in a thread where a guy is trying to diagnose an issue he is having but would in a topic like this.

    Agreed lets see em people!

But to get off topic again... :D this forum has been a breath of fresh air! I spent almost a decade interacting, talking, buying, selling on honda-tech. It was probably one of the best automotive forums of all time, aside from the guys who would nit-pick thread habits. (Why I was checking myself) Now its a ghost town. The amount of activity on here is awesome! A nice bonus that came along with owning the truck. Carry on.

Are you saying a bunch of us are old farts & used to old-school forums, rather than new-fangled social media?

    -I fit that bill-
(Of course, I did buy a near 25 year old truck to supplement a near 30 year old sports car as my primary drivers, when my 16 year old “took” my “new” 09 xB ....

What I love about this thread is that there are some peculiar things with our trucks that the other (more common) body styles seem to overlook. I cant tell you how many pages of light bar installs I've sorted through and I never seem to find one with our front end. That being said, Im taking my 95.5 to the grand canyon in a couple weeks and you can bet Ill be updating with some pics after that!
