As title said.. my new 2019 twice popped up a 'brake now' alarm within the first 1200 miles with nothing of substance in front of me. I will have the dealer check it out but do I need to worry about it braking for me if the error thinks this ghost is closer.

Mine has slammed on the brakes before when some dumb ass cut me off. I guess if it thinks it’s close enough, possibly

Yes, it can. I have had it say Brake Now with nothing in front of me 3 or so times in the last year of owning this truck. It has not ever actually braked for me in these situations though. It seems like it from a distance thinks there is a car but once it gets close enough to the point where it would normally brake, it verifies nothing is there with (radar?) whatever it uses to determine if an object is in front of you. I believe the system uses cameras in combination with radar to determine braking, and It is purely my conjecture, but I believe these ghost brake warnings happen when the camera is fooled but the radar is not.
