Hey guys, looking for feedback on the newer civics. I am considering purchasing a 2019 Civic hatchback sport with the 1.5 turbo. I am stuck on the fence about the CVT vs 6 speed manual. Has anoyone had any experience, good or bad with such a set up?

Had one for 6 months/4800 miles- couldn't stand it.
Not the car as a whole, but the horrendous seats. I was only semi-comfortable for 30-45 minutes, after which my lower back would start aching like crazy. And I'm only 30.
Mine was a 2018 Hatch back sport with manual. I test drove the CVT because I would have really liked the leather and upgraded stereo/nav but in the 10 minutes I was driving the CVT I felt like a bit of my soul died. So manual trans won out. Just really too bad the seats werent better. Cloth stained easily and couldn't get the adjustment to be comfortable.

Overall I got 33/34mpg city and 38/42 highway, was fairly fun to drive, had decent interior room with the hatch, had surprisingly good handling and suspension for a FWD car and looked good. But I just couldn't drive it due to the seats.

Wow great feedback! Thanks a bunch, I am 30 with a compressed T-11 vertebrae from an old injury so that’s concerning. I was going to do the catskinz leather swap super soon as I hate cloth seats, my Tacoma seats are trashed. I am going to go test drive a few, my gf wants an auto because of Austin/Dallas traffic even though she grew up with manuals. Idk, you know how that goes... I’d love a 6 speed, and honestly she may just have to be unhappy with me for a while until she gets over it... but if the seats are horrible I may have to just look elsewhere because I’m looking for a third car to keep for the long haul.

    I have a 2018 Civic Si Sedan.

    Love it.

Best seats I've experienced (different from the other versions), performance better than the WRX my family had, nearly 40 mpg on road trips and 32 commuting.

So not a direct comparison to what you're looking at, but the power train is stout, the (albeit slightly different) shifter is a joy, and it's a ton of fun to drive. And when I go autocrossing it helps me run near the front. The infotainment system is superior to the truck's as well, and it's roomier all around.

I had a 2017 Civic HB sport for 5 months.
Good car but CVT was boring.
    I’d get the manual transmission.
I do have the “big wing” version of this car currently and is a blast to drive.
