I am disappointed with my iPhone 6s, I know its old but its crapping out on me, and I am unable to afford the newer iPhones so I am thinking about making a switch to Android. I have heard great things about the Google Pixel, although I am partial to the AUX port. I am looking for thoughts on decent android phones that aren't too expensive.

OnePlus 6 or 6T. My old Pixel XL died.

The original Pixel/Pixel XL was made by HTC. I've had several HTC phones with no issues. But a few Pixel owners have reported their phone randomly dying like mine did :notsure:

The latest pixel phones are expensive, you might be able to get older models for less. If you are going to go Android you will get the best performance from as close to stock android as possible, with a Pixel, OnePlus, or the like. The others like Samsung will have their own bloatcrap as well as carrier bloatcrap which will bog it down quicker than a Pixel.

Thanks for the replies. I was just curious. I definitely am not dropping the big price tag on a Pixel 4/4XL. My buddy just upgraded to the Pixel 4 and is selling me his Pixel 2XL. It's in decent shape and a good deal.

I do miss having a headphone jack sometimes. I did recently buy my first set of Bluetooth earbuds on one of those black Friday specials. Next time I get a Bluetooth headset, I'm going to look them up on https://bluetoothcheck.com/ first. You'd think a $200 set of earbuds would have a better BT profile.

Try the Swappa website for grabbing a used unlocked pixel. The phones are garantee d to be functional.

I've bought my last 2 pixels thru them.

Owning your own unlocked phone opens up some great prices for services of your preferred carrier.

"When" I break my next phone, it's going to be another Pixel.

At least they give some info about it. The Powerbeats box doesn't give any info about the Bluetooth support at all.

How much are they going for now?

    A pixel 2XL is stating around $145.

I presently use a pixel XL and the Pixel 2XL depending what day I feel like swapping the SIM card.

I only bought the 2XL was to have a spare, since I never know when I'm gonna deep six my phone. Swap the SIM card and move on.

I like the XL a little better. As for capabilities, I can't tell any difference. I don't miss the head phone jack. Its one of the reasons I destroyed a previous phone. Running on the elliptical and my hand hit the cord and I jerked the phone across the room into the wall. It was dead right there.

My old PXL died after 6 months. Was quoted $350+ to fix it (about a year ago). Thought about picking up a cheap one to use as a small tablet to go with the car radio.
