Personally, I would never add a roof rack on my truck. Too many people I've met that have had water leakage issues because of their roof racks. Plus it looks hideous!

I installed the OEM roofrack because I needed to carry a Yakima box and I didn't want to spend $1200 on the bitchen rack that I'll eventually buy. Paid about $300 for it, installed it in about a half-hour. I siliconed the hell out of the bolt holes and around the brackets. It's survived the crazy uncharacteristic rain we've been getting here in SoCal without a leak, and I've had it on for at least a year.

If you can get it it and for $150 and install it yourself, then that's a rad deal and you should snap it up.

    Aesthetics are subjective, of course.

But, yeah, life is full of trade-offs. If you live your life fearing the tiny chance of a minor, fixable leak, then yeah. Skip the roof rack.

Anyone have the manual for the oem one handy and scan scan or small some pix of them? Or know of a website that has them up?
