5VZ-FE 3.4L V6 reliability problem Please HELP

sounds like fuel pump is getting weak. or your flyby wire throttle body is going out. I had an 04 that had the flyby wire and when is started going bad it would stumble and hesitate at random times and would not throw and engine light. took me 6 months to figure it out. I sold that truck because that throttle body is $1400-1600.00 from Toyota and you cannot adjust it i tried to no avail. they put that throttle body into an electronic ohm jig and set the throttle position and throttle intake butterly and then lock the screws down and put yellow paint on it so if it moves or if you mess with it they can tell. i sold that truck because of that throttle body issue and went back to a 2001-2002 before that throttle body came out. i am happy with a cable pull throttle body because the throttle position sensor is only $35 bucks if it goes bad.

 

you can buy this stuff from toyota specifically for cleaning the fuel injectors without taking them out of the engine.

Had to work early and didn't finish till late today beat up and didn't get anything done on the truck.
If i have to buy important parts I want OEM and have been going here. Any better suggestions I'm all ears.

 

First thing I did, everybody I talked to said that was the prime suspect. Turns out, according to Toyota, on my throttle body it not replaceable. Had to buy a new throttle body to replace the TPS.

Thanks preybird1 that may be the answer after spending 700 bucks on a "new throttle body" and taking a fishing trip from Las Vegas to Yellow lake region out of Escalante UT after the install with no worries and no problems till a few weeks later and the problem showed up again. Starting to think it's a computer problem related to the TPS. Maybe next time it happens I'll pull a battery cable and see what happens.

It appears that this has been an issue for a while and it runs fine out on the highway so this is a wild stab in the dark.....I had a buddy that had excessive water in his fuel tank. It would start just fine in the morning and after driving, the water would get sloshed around and mixed up and cause his truck to start bucking and snorting, but if he let it sit for a while, the water would apparently settle and/or homogenize and it would start and run again. He initially troubleshot it as a heat issue. I guess a super cheap test would be dump a couple bottles of "Heat" into the tank, top off with some good fuel and see if anything changes?
