the wheels are just different in general. IIRC they're narrower, and the part the center cap clips into is narrower on my trail edition wheels

What is everyone doing for a spare tire. I'm going from 16"OR wheels to the 17" 4r OR wheels. Looking at 255/75-17 tires but there doesn't seem to be a 16" equivalent. Close but not perfect. Do the late model 4R come with a steel spare wheel? If so do the regular lug nuts work on it? Anyone got the part # for the correct steel spare?

Edit: I think I found the correct part #

Stock suspension? Any rubbing or performance issues? I am thinking of going to this tire size with the same wheels. Looks like you have aftermarket mud flaps, too.

I was able to rob mine off my totaled ‘17 T4R off road premium with the fresh wildpeaks I had just purchased. They were on the Tacoma less than 12 hours after I bought it. I think these and the black semas are my favorite OEM wheels but I don’t care for black wheels on black trucks. :anonymous::crapstorm:

Totally stock suspension, and I have a ton of room. No rubbing at all, but I haven't stuffed it yet. It definitely geared it slightly higher, the only place I can see it being an issue is backing up steep hills. Mine is a manual with the high reverse to begin with. Mileage is about identical, maybe lost 1. Rokblokz flaps but I thave tons of room, I bet factory would work.

Looks great on a blue truck. I just picked up a set. Any idea how far off your speedometer is with these?

4Runner Trail wheels and Toyo Open Country ATII tires 265-70-17. Cosmetic stuff like Pro grille and OffRoad black bumper trim, vinyl delete on side, added hood graphic, OEM tube steps.
I went with them because I like the way they look AND because they are Toyota and hubcentric. I want no issues. No vibrations. No complaints when presenting warranty concerns. I have no lift and the additional rubber of the 265-70-17 tires fills out the wheel wells nicely, as does the decrease in offset (TRD Sport is +25 and the Trail wheels are +15). Nice and flush to the body now.

Thanks, I have added center caps since this picture, I think it looks better with center caps but I liked the no center caps look also.
