I bought a set of blizaks for this winter and they have been amazing in this insane Wisconsin weather. Now I'm in the hunt for a set of non-winter tires for my 2011 TRD Sport.

I use my truck heavily for 2 things, freeway driving (sometimes in terrible weather) and driving through a grassy field that is prone to flooding. I'm looking for something grippy, quiet, and durable that can also handle a load. I haul firewood occasionally and often tow a boat. I had the old AT20s on the truck when I bought it and I was really unimpressed by how quickly the sidewalls wore down. I'd like to try something different and these are the 2 options that jump out at me (based on reviews and ratings).

    1. Falken Wildpeak A/T3W

    2. Michelin LTX A/T 2

I would be happy to hear other suggestions if you have them. Also, if anyone has these on stock wheels, I'd love to see a picture!

    What say you?

    Cheers!

I'd even take a look at the Michelin Defender LTX MS if I were you.....more highway than anything else, but probably best for your needs

I'm personally getting a set of ST MAXX next week.....they're for sure an AT/MT hybrid and overkill for that kind of driving, but they wear well (~65k+ miles) if you treat them right. Plus they are a super all-around capable tire and look boss

Thanks for the rec. I'm checking them out and trying to deal with my local Discount Tire. I really like the Falkens but af6er reading through the 221 page thread on them, I'm now concerned about imbalance and quick wear.

Ok, I have gone down the rabbit hole of tire threads for the last 3 days. I have it narrowed down to 2 choices.

    1. Michelin LTX A/T2

    2. Cooper Discoverer AT3

It seems like both of them are proven AT tires with pros and cons. Any last minute opinions before I call DT?

Oh there will be some mods all right
I am also in Wisconsin, also have Blizzaks, and my summer tires are the Falken Wildpeak A/T3W. For the price you can't beat them. I haven't had any balancing issues personally. They seem to be pretty good tires. Only weak spot I've found is that like many AT tires they don't eject mud all that well. People seem to be pretty happy with the Cooper Discoverers too. This thread: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/cooper-discoverer-a-t3-megathread.546259/ has all kinds of reviews and information/pictures on the AT3 4s and XLT (I think the XLTs look pretty cool.) Good luck with your tire search! :D

I can second this, I’ve had the Wildpeaks for 3 years, no issues. You do have to be rolling to clear clay mud, that stuff is sticky!80971F7E-FFA2-4B38-9380-52BDB7D08E1D.jpg9F1213DA-F6B4-4B3F-BC8C-D9229CBCF592.jpg
