    You would use a push pin/ plunger sensor like they use on the hood for tail gate, and where you would/could access tonneau cover... power source would be the battery. Would need a horn to make sound or tie it into the trucks horn.

    i'm considering it for a contractor aluminum shell. BF horn, battery w/ external charge capability, some kind of trigger mounted on the hatch (no side windows), a guess a fuse, and most assuredly an "off" switch.
