Just did a pre-emptive battery change on my 2016 with 56k miles. Went with the Odyssey 34R-1500. Used the Odyssey spacer and the fit is perfect. An interesting side note. I had the power disconnected for about 15 minutes. Fired it up and all memories are retained.

what are preventative measures to keep battery post corroding? going to replace the battery in my 16 is 3 1/2 years old. most likely costco battery and will do it in the parking lot so not have to deal with bringing back the core.

On a sealed battery, there is really nothing to do because there is no acid to spill or leak. I just make sure everything is clean and spray a little WD40. If you’re going with a battery with caps and acid, you’ll have to keep an eye on it more and keep things clean. Watch for any corrosion on the positive post.

That’s a great battery. I have the same one in my Jeep.

I used a 34R AGM I got from O'Reilly. Got different J hooks and ditched the spacer.
    Fit well.
Although i recently upped the ante to a Optima 31 I scored from a fellow TW member....

Let us know if your truck has any problems charging the AGM battery. Most 3rd gen alternators don't have the volts to properly charge an AGM battery.

I just put mine on a battery tender from time to time to top it off completely.

That's not red neck, that's anti corrosion.

I have an Odyssey in my Polaris. 6 years strong. Put it on my AGM charger yesterday and got "Full Charge " in 10 minutes. This thing only makes short trips. Put the new truck battery on the charger before the install and had "Full Charge " in less than 5 minutes. There will be no problem with these batteries in the Taco with normal use.

    G.

    P. S.
    I don't work for Odyssey.
