08 x runner parking brake snapped and it wasn't the cable

I'm at my witts end with this truck first a short in one of the fog lamps caused an electrical fire which toyota refuses ti acknowledge.Second Toyota states based on the truck V.I.N number I'm the 2nd owner when I'm pretty damn certain it had factory plastiv and a new car sticker with 39 miles when I picked it up. And now this! The parking brake medal cradle that welded to the dash board roll cage are about the size of an ass hair! Are you kidding me!!! This truck needs a cheap YUGO on top just too make it look better at this point!! Where's the toyota quality I've heard so much about!? What good is any motor if The damn thing deteriorates or burns up around it but wait, Now it's not the fire gling up in flames it's the puddles of water i find on the floorboard with 10 different possible causes. Here's a pic of the beloved tacoma and to the mods or anyone else I've offended my apologies but what ' Question" is there too ask?

 

This is crazy, I’d recommend swapping this over to 2nd gen forum. The xrunner forum is a wasteland
