What's up guys. I'm fairly new to the site and just now starting to build out my 2017 TRD OR DCLB. This drawer system is the first thing I plan on doing because I camp out in my camper shell pretty often and I really need a way to stay organized. I found most of my ideas/inspiration from other threads on this site and felt that I should document my build as well. I'm hoping others can chime in with recommendations and lesson learned from their own builds so I can possibly improve mine.

I have a decent amount of CAD experience and just recently got an Autodesk License. This is what I will use for all the CAD and CNC work. I also have my own 4x8 CNC table to play around with which can be used with a router or plasma cutter.

Below is what I have modeled so far. Still working on calibrating my router but I should be cutting everything out pretty soon.
    • 60" LH Drawer
    • 60" RH Drawer w/ cutting board and grill drawer
    • 2 Cubs in the back for storage
    • Access to side storage
    • Bearings and square tubing for slides
Let me know what you guys think so far!

I'll post more pics throughout this build.

Most of the main structure is assembled. Just need to order all the components for the drawers.
Anyone have any recommendations on where to get a custom size cutting board?

I would love to see what we can do. This is exactly what I’m looking for without paying the astronomical price of those name brands. Looking really good.

It is so bare bones right now. I do have this piece who I just arrived and a second battery that needs to get up to a solar system

    Look nice,
It's hard to tell how deep your drawers are in your setup is ,this was what I came up .It keeps the cutting board- prep area lower , main drawer slides out, small drawers out of main drawer, cutting board slides out of small drawer.
When I was figuring out my setup I looked at every photo I could find for about 6 months. Most were from Australia where they seem to have every off-road camper type imaginable.
    Have fun

Very nice set up! I would of done something like that but my drawers are only about 7-8" deep. I wanted to keep everything short so I could have the top platform rest on the ledges that are built in the bed.

Made some real progress today. Got the platform pieces carpeted and started test fitting everything.
Surprisingly, everything fit first try lol. Next step is to start assembling the drawers.

Finally got everything finished and started throwing my camping gear in there. I ended up finding some removable hinges in the shop and used them for the right hand drawer. The front piece now lifts up so the grill drawer can be pulled out. Only thing left is a cutting board that would go over that grill area. I have some HDPE on the way that I plan to machine for this.

The next thing I would like try is hooking up a deep cycle battery in one of the back cubs and putting some 12V plugs and USBs somewhere on the platform.
    Any ideas guys???

Originally I wanted to do the battery in the wheel well cubbys. I'd suggest locating on the passengers side to balance the weight. Are you going solar? Could work. Looks great dude.

Thanks man! Yup the plan is to eventually go solar to top off the second battery. Just need to figure out all the electronics lol.
I'll take a look at fitting one in the side cub now, that definitely makes more sense. I'd eventually want to add an air compressor back there too so that would keep everything in the same place.
