My wife is good with the money I spend fishing. I have no other hobby's, no tobacco, no alcohol. I work, update the house and fish. I could not ask for a better wife.

Bassmaster Classic is in my town this weekend. On my commute into work this morning I stopped and watched the send-off.

Thousands of people! I had no idea there was such a following

I work in downtown Knoxville and there's people everywhere! The hometown angler just caught a 17 pound bass!

Alright here we go, going to be a bit longer of a post. Here is just about my complete setup.

Let's start with tackle. I fish for just about everything so I've got a wide array of stuff.

Here are my 4 main boxes. Shad raps, jigs, jerkbaits, and a terminal tackle/panfish/bobbers/other stuff. I've got another junk box/bass hooks that's not pictured.
    20190315_142700.jpg

Next are all my plastics, and holy cow do I have a lot. I have all of them separated by type. I found that a ziplock bag works really well for storage. You can compress all of them down and save probably 50% of the room you have. I will admit, I do have a bit of a love affair with zman plastics. They work so well and last FOREVER.

    Stick baits and swim baits.
    20190315_143019.jpg

    Ned rig baits.
    20190315_143417.jpg

    Tubes
    20190315_144151.jpg

    Dropshot stuff
    20190315_143703.jpg

The best part is it all fits into a backpack sized tacklebox. It's easy to take everywhere and it holds everything.
    20190315_152348.jpg

Now for rods and reels. I'm not super loyal to any one brand, I've fished just about every major brand and I've found pros and cons to each one. From left to right.

An ancient gander mountain rod with a Diawa lexa.
Ancient Diawa rod with a Lews tournament MG.
Enigma rod with a 13 fishing concept A.
Fenwick elite tech bass rod that needs a new guide on it.
Fenwick HMG with a pfluger president
St Croix eyecon, usually has another pfluger president, but just spooled up a new reel.
    20190315_145213.jpg

I love the pfluger president reels. They are rock solid and smooth. Best reel for under $100 hands down. I've got a bit more stuff not pictured.

Had a great day today! Bite was slow, but still managed to land a 4.5 lb bass. First big one of the year!

Pond in Culpeper. I’ve been to Frederick a few times but only got skunked. Try out Germantown lake in Warrenton. I at least caught a few small ones there last year. Some bugs ones in there though.

Just bought my California Fishing licences yesterday: $71.29. My long standing gripe with it. - besides the price, is that it it expires at the end of The year, regardless of what day you purchased it. Example: If you bought it on Dec 30th 2019. It is only good for two days, - It expires on Jan 1 2020.

I think that is pretty common to have them expire on the same date every year. Minnesota fishing licenses expire the last day of Feb every year. I know Wisconsin and South Dakota are the same day as well...maybe not the same date, but same concept.

It’s not a huge lake but it’s at Crockett Park in Fauquier County. Very big bass there from what I have heard and read. Like I said I’ve only went once or twice and just caught some little ones. They rent boats and stuff though.
