I hope someone can help me put this to rest or not

Last summer i had a “reputable” shop
    Replace my rear axle seals
    As well as
New rear shoes/ drums and all of the hardware kit

I probably put 35k miles on the truck since then

Anytime i do tire rotation i like to take drums off wash any dust off and see if there is any leaks/ how everything is looking

What my question is my pads are wearing only on the corners
And the crazy part is on all 4 corners

When i brought this issue up with the shop
    Their answer is
    That its perfectly normal
Pads are not true to the drums nowadays

And back in the day you have to bend the pads to comform?

So if thats the case im only using like 5percent of my rear braking surface?

    Shoes not pads !

Unless all Toyota parts were used were they ??

Some Aftermarket drums are quite lacking in quality control .

Looks like you don`t haul any weight in your truck is that correct ??

so very seldom do the rear brakes see any use.

Your using the Parking Brake when your parked to keep the rear shoes adjusted ?

I have seen wear patterns like that when the shoes are not adjusted correct as well

I haul weight/ tow maybe once a month
But have about 300-400 pounds of gear in the bed all the time

I always use parking brake because of manual and remote start installed :D

I doubt they used toyota parts

Looks like manufacturer tapering to me. So it doesnt rip the shoe when applying brakes. Eventually it will wear down to the whole shoe. Doesnt look bad to me.

Actually the tapered part of the linings is the part that ISN'T contacting the drum and that's normal. To me that looks like the mechanic sanded down the edges of the linings, not the manufacturer. Without the taper, it can grab and/or shudder when braking. I see nothing wrong here.
