Mounting a HMMWV Pioneer Rack

    So, I've had this new pioneer rack and tools for forever and never had anything to really mount it in - frustrating. Not to mention the comments from SWMBO about collecting stuff I never use.

    This is what I did:

    I used some 1/2" aluminum strap to form a connector between the two tonneau cover bolts and added two clips from an old tailgate net to hold the top handle against the bed rail. I used 3 velcro straps from Lowes and the ratchet strap on the bottom to stop rattles.

    The important thing to note is that the weight of the rack and tools rest completely on the floor - the various straps are simply to immobilize it.

    After 200+ miles, no rattles and no obvious signs of rubbing against the bed plastic. Seems solid.
