Has anyone considered buying an unpainted bumper cover (3rd gen) to cut instsead of the painted one on the truck? I’m going to put a pelfrybilt bumper on and was thing instead of cutting my bumper I could buy an unpainted one and cut that, which would make it easier to swap back for a return to stock. Just wondering if anyone has done something similar or if it’s a horrible idea...

Not a bad idea at all. Could get some color matched paint in a can and paint it yourself. Won't be perfect but it'll be good enough.

yeah, you can also find them on CL fairly often, doesn't matter the color if you're just going to paint it anyway, also if it has slight damage to the bottom who cares, you're gonna cut it anyway.

That's similar to what i'm doing with my fender flares, i'm looking for a set from an offroad to cut up before i put on my front bumper, that way i still have my painted ones uncut if i ever go back to stock...
