Last month I said goodbye to a old friend. She passed, we survived. And yes I bought a ‘19 immediately.

Holy smokes that is a nasty accident! Glad you survived! Hope you won't have any long term injuries from that wreck. Surprised the cap didn't sustain any damage.

Yes, We're just fine. I had Bob and Zoe checked out at the vet in the next town immediately and they were unscathed thankfully. I got looked at the next evening after returning home. some face rash and a cut up arm along with some busted ribs was all there was. The truck did a incredible job. All 70 pounds of Bob destroyed my seat, bending it forward and twisting it to the right pushing me further into the windshield and steering wheel but even that worked out ok. I'm told we "survived the unsurviveable" by more than a few people including the cops on scene, claims adjuster and tow truck driver.

Another huge thanx to the pros at Pederson Toyota in Fort Collins, Colorado for making my 2nd purchase of yet another unicorn fast and painless. Chance in sales and Brian in finance are quite amazing and well woth the long drive in bad weather.

It’s nothing compared to what I saw later. The cab was beginning to fold at the B pillars. Bob left his imprint on the seat back. Frightening shit.

The other drivers were fine. Incredibly we all walked away, dogs included. The biggest problem was not being able to find the door handle which was relocated behind the dash. I needed a little help getting out.

As I approached a hill I began a slow pass of a semi at 75 in a 80 zone. We crested and the road curved right. What I thought was snow blowing off the semi didn’t dissipate as I cleared his bumper so I began slowing knowing something was very very wrong. Never saw the massive snow plow that was blocked from view the whole time, not even at impact. Not it’s safety yellow paint or it’s many flashing lights. The closing rate was about 50 mph at impact. He was going 15 in the left lane. Then the semi hit our right rear corner. What’s interesting is it blew both rear shocks. Must have lifted off the ground a bit and settled back down slightly.

I’m trying to find someone to tell the story to but not having any easy luck. They should know how well it worked and how thankful I am.
