Did some research. Lol as it turns out stock gears + 33x12.5s + deep soft sand = revlimitter. Can't post a video but rooster tails were flying

Those are niiiiice, but the prices aren't listed, at least that I see. Any idea what the ballpark figure is?

    Guessing $400+

What I found on other forums was 4-500. I just ordered another stock alternator and called it good.

Thanks... wasn't too far off

I'll stick with the weak stock guy, till I can find someone local-ish that will re-wire it for a little but more oomph.

A non supercharged 1994-1997 Jaguar XJ6 4.0L (Denso 210-0406) 120 amp alt bolts right up to the 3RZ (with wire adapter/spliceing), since the 2TR-FE uses the same block I'd wager it work for 2nd gens too.

Consensus is that it isn’t necessarily harmful but is extremely annoying, I’m having a cv shaft made for mine also an inch longer so we’ll see how that works out.

I called them. Not even close. The 180a or whatever their lowest amperage one is is right at 1k and it goes up from there. Quality is second to none tho with those guys.

Wonder if the Lincoln LS would bolt up, in pretty sure that’s the same motor.

Edit: should be pretty easy and cheap to find one of those shit boxes around to snag one off of.

While similar, the the 3RZ and 2TR are different blocks. They do use the same starter. Has anyone tried the higher amp alternator from the 1GR?

Just thought I would make a contribution to the RC thread . Nothing fancy just an old 08. Should have the rear bumper raised up an inch this week hopefully. dNZhCOGfRVaFHEGJyKxynQ.jpg7g37aiLZTPuyL57p%N0GBg.jpg

Still got my 08 Regular Cab. Did quite a few mods since the day I bought it in August 2017

    Satoshi Grill
    2017 TRD Off-road Wheels
    Leer Topper
Auxbeam LED Headlights and Fog Lights
    Lightbar mounted behind front bumper
Blacked out front bumper like the X-runner

Just passed 100K miles and going strong.

Good looking truck , I have just hit 111,000. Only had mine for about 3 months. Didn't need much when I bought it but I never could leave things alone . Should last a while I put maybe 10-15 miles on a day . A lot different being retired. Once it warms up it will be back in the woods for fishing. Still have more to do to get it more off road worthy. Im used to my Jeeps where I had lockers front and rear and lots of flex to now with completely open rears and no flex. I think I will get hung up if I ran over a turtle right now

Dropped off my driveshaft yesterday to have a double cardan built. I told the guy to make it an inch longer as well. I’ll probably have to mess with some shims to get the diff angled properly but I’ll report the results when it’s on.

Depending on how much of an angle I need I’m a little concerned with the pinion bearing getting oiled tho.

I would think you would be OK . We put slip yoke eliminators in Wranglers all the time. When you do that you use a CV drive shaft so then you need to rotate your rear diff up so the pinion is in pretty much a direct line with your DS. We don't have any lube issues and your dealing with a real short , steep angled driveshaft then . You can always add a little more oil but not a lot .

Not very bad honestly just from 45-50 mph, but I also get the deceleration grinding attributed to the slip joint. I’m super sick of both and my operating angles are a little too far out of it for a single cardan shaft, so went with a cv.

Good to know, thanks, my driveshaft angle will only be about 11* so I think you’re right. I’d imagine you only run into problems around 25*+

Im thinking a 3* shim would angle it enough to be butter smooth, either way I’m pretty stoked for the new piece
