Short bed length

Does anyone know if the 3rd gen bed length is 5ft with the tailgate up or with the tailgate down?

Stupid question maybe, but I don't know. Don't have one yet .

5ft from rear seats to just beyond the tailgate

What? The bed length is from the back of the bed to inside of the tail gate.

 

Gonna post info from link as some info here is a little silly. No measurement would be from inside the cab and it never covers tailgate down as that’s not allowed in some areas. Plus our tailgate isn’t really all that strong. From link. Credit of info and pic are in link forty2 and the fluffer
