I have a 2004 V6 4x4 225,000 miles, Automatic that now whines when in drive. Looking for a referral to get major work done.

While I'm at it and it is down anyways, do the timing belt, water pump, valve cover seal and plugs. Hopefully last me another 3 years. Anything else I should consider doing.

Ask for Joe Pirano, dude has done transmissions for me in everything from hot rods, drag cars, big power diesels, and a prerunner.

I'm in Torrance, but can drive it as far has my bad transmission will take me. I also have AAA and can get it towed about anywhere. I've called places from San Pedro to Korea Town and gotten quotes of $1300 - $2000 for rebuilding the existing and $2000 for a crate one installed from Japan.

Scott is a certified Toyota Tech. I haven't taken anything to him yet, but he's helped me with a few issues over the phone. One man show so he gets swamped, but does legit work. Torrance may be a bit far, but he towed a truck up from SD to help a dude out.

I had my work truck transmission rebuilt at National transmission in lomita a few weeks ago. I’m very happy with them. He delivered the truck on time when he said he would, stayed at the quoted price and was very professional.
