Does anyone use a front receiver hitch and winch? If so what is your setup? (winch capacity and winch cradle)

Lots of people use them. There is a recent thread about front hitch receivers and recovery points. Search around, you'll find what you're looking for.

Main advantages are 1) you don't need to carry around the weight all the time, and 2) you can switch it to the rear for a rear winch. The main disadvantages are 1) you have to carry it with you, 2) they are terrible to leave on the hitch when driving so that means taking up space in the bed, 3) ground clearance

Basically, they're fine, but if you are worried about front approach angle, the front hitch receivers aren't great. They usually hang fairly low (and that's without the winch mount). So if you're doing some actual 4wheeling, and not just driving the forest roads going hunting or whatever, IMO you'd be better off with a bumper with a winch mount.
