I'm in the process of gathering parts and planning to SAS my first gen and want to get a good idea of what people are doing for leaf spring hangers/placement etc (or any other pointers/lessons learned!). I don't want to have the truck laid up for a long time so the more I know in advance the more prepared I'm going to be when it goes under the knife. For those of you who have done the swap, would you mind sharing pictures of what you did (kit or custom) for your front leaf spring setup? I'm mostly curious about the rear portion as I've seen the frame needing to be notched due to the width difference in the frame at the front and back of the leaf mounting points. Any help would be much appreciated :).

Thanks! No issues with that shackle angle?

Check out step 58. They notch one side and use a pipe through the frame welded on the other side for added support. Slightly different than the SORD kit, but same principle.

Not my picture, but very similar shackle angle using the same setup from the same company. No issues and using Rancho 44044 leaf springs.

Awesome. How do you find the lift? I'm regearing to 4.56 and planning on running 35s (I have a TDI swap in my truck and dont want to overpower the little diesel with 37s).

Edit: read through your thread. Pretty hefty lift, looks like theres a reason they notched the frame.. hm

    Stay on topic :D.

I didn't really document this anywhere to be honest, no interest or time in keeping up with build threads haha.
