Set an exception in your anti-virus to exclude the OVTune folder from being scanned.

 

Received my kit today. Any tips and tricks before I start the install? It’ll be my first time and I’m hoping it goes smooth as possible.

just google it. here is a basic navigation

1. Go to Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Security > Virus & threat protection.
2. Under Virus & threat protection settings, select Manage settings, and then under Exclusions, select Add or remove exclusions.
3. Select Add an exclusion, and then select from files, folders, file types, or process.

Turn off virus blocker. I got stuck on that for an hour trying to figure out why the p5flash screen wont display.

 

Good to hear. Now it will do the same when you download the reg key and install it.

I’ve kept up with this thread from the beginning and have seen a few negative posts. Just wanted to share my positive tuning experience.
Monday- bought second hand tune kit from a TacomaWorld member @tazmoto1526 (great deal!). Emailed OVTune to ask to pay for registration. Downloaded Flash Manager+tunes to my laptop.
Tuesday- Got invoice from OVTune and paid for registration key. @tazmoto1526 shipped (overnight fast shipping) my tune kit to me.
Wednesday- received registration email from @OVTune and received package with tune kit. Hooked up to my truck and flashed 1.05 87 base tune successfully!!

Only took 48 hours from start to finish!!
Thank you @OVTune (Mat) and @tazmoto1526 (Tim) for making this old man’s life better!! I couldn’t ask for a better experience!!

While I was off work today, and waiting for my package, I also downloaded Techstream from a link on this thread since I now have a cable to use. I’ll play with it another time, gotta go drive my tuned truck. Ahhhh yeaaaaa!

 

They’re is no feathering with the performance tunes. Like some have said,GL with Base would be sweet.

Following the directions on the link. For som reason getting hung up on copy and paste/ replace mainmenu.exe in desktop properties. Keep getting an error...

 

You copy the "Mainmenu.exe" file and put it in C:\Program Files (x86)\Toyota Diagnostics\Techstream\

Make sure you click "copy and replace" when it asks.

 

You don't have to keep it off, just make the Toyota flash folder an exception in Windows Defender.
