    Greetings!!!!

New member and "proud" "new" owner of a gently used 2008 Silver Tacoma 4x4 Base V6 6sp MT Double cab short bed 155k mi with the TOW package. Doubt it has the TRD package.

Originally from the lower part of Northern New Jersey, enlisted in the US Navy as a helicopter Mechanic for 7+ years, lived in FL and CA, and have a place in the west valley of AZ. Right now, due to certain circumstances, I'm back home with the folks in NJ. With the final goal to move back to AZ with both cars and have fun in the desert.

Been a Honda guy for a while. I first started off in a 92 Pontiac Grand Am, then a 93 Mercury Tracer. Then the love of my life came to me (sorry honey). A 1989 Honda Prelude SI 4WS MT. Sadly, I had to give it up and traded it in for a 2000 Civic Ex 5MT ( I REGRET EVERYTHING!!!!)

Right now my 00 civic is in storage in AZ and I'm driving the beater (2004 Civic LX 5MT). It sits at 244k and has more rust blemeshis than a kid during puberty. Sooooo, I needed a second vehicle and always wanted a compat/mid-sized truck. First was the Ranger. Then I started to move towards Toyota. Now, here I am, with my first ever truck.

I sure as hell screwed the pooch on this purchase. I was desperate for a Tacoma, wanted a blue access cab 4x4 with TRD and Tow and V6 MT.....all gone. So I saw this one show up, panicked, drove 2 hrs to Sloan ToyotaTof MalvernMalv bought it...........NEVER RUSH ON A CAR SALE FROM THE STEALERSHIP!!!
Granted it took 2.5 hrs and I had all the time in the world....

Winters in NJ in a civic suck. So this looked too good to be true. Got it for $13k. Had it towed home (AAA plus member). Waited till the weekend, then drove it for 50 mi. NIIIIICE.....so I thought. While at the dealership, I test drove it. It worked fine. I crawled under and found no rust. Just brown spots. Easy to take care of. The interior looked like the day it came off the lot minus the worn driver seat. Even had a hard bed cap. That was good till I got to play with it at home and realized i forgot to test EVERYTHING out before I left.

So, here I sit with the following that I have now read up on in this forum and plan to attack myself cause I never let the stealership or shop touch it unless I have no time:
    1. Blower resistor
    2. Compass/Temp not working
    3. Worn/broken center support bearing
    4. Cruise Control not working (not a big issue)
Sadly, from what I found when I tore apart the radio to get ready to transfer my Pioneer AVH-W4400NEX from the civic, I found a lot of burn pigtails. Something electrical happened and I'm not sure what. But that's for another forum post.

Here's to many fun years and lots of ideas and help from the rest of you all.

    CHEERS!!!!
