I'm surprised no one mentioned the TRD oil filter. Part # PTR43-00080 U.S. made by Champion Labs. Looks similar to the K&N due to the top nut, but it has the similar construction as a Royal Purple filter.
98% efficient @ 20 microns. Filter better than OEM and flows well. They're $9 a pop at my Local Toyota dealer.

I get the high mileage filters since I only change oil every 12,500 miles. Dont really care about brands when it comes to fluids or filters. Cheapest works good for me. 175k miles

Color matched door handles, Weathertech floor liners, bed mat, Durafit seat covers, tailgate clamp, 2016 TRD Sport 17" wheels with Yokohama Geolander AT tires , Toyota exhaust tip, Toyota/Yakima bike rail mount, Toyota wheel locks, Toyota hitch cover, Redline hood struts, unifilter on air pump.
Those are all made by Champion Labs. At least they used to be (suppliers change sometimes). They also make most of the AC Delco filters.

Wix XP... allows 6 quarts of engine oil total fill instead of the standard 5.5 that most people with a 4.0L engine have who are tow package equipped.

.5 quarts may not sound like much, but when you are talking oil starvation... it's always good to have more lubrication available than less.

In my opinion that extra 1/2 a quart wont do any good if its in the filter. To help with starvation it needs to be down in the oil pan near the oil pump pickup tube. Like a higher capacity oil pan..

Reading through this thread im seeing lots of statements about "this filter works great", "that filter works great"..

How does one measure "how great a filter is working"? Does anyone have any evidence of a regular-ass filter doing damage to their engine? Like, they installed a basic filter and then their engine went kaboom!?!

Nope just like oil and all of the other fluids. Brand doesn't matter.
