How many miles on the truck?

I get some noise from my TOB when it's well below freezing, but never when warmed up.

63,000. I am kinda surprised its going out already, but at the same time, not shocked at all. I have always thought the clutch was not always 100% but the two times I brought it up at my service appointments, I get the "performs as expected" reply.

Ah ok, you've got quite a bit more miles on yours than I have on mine (46000 km). Still, you're right - it shouldn't be going out that soon.
Other than the odd noise, I get some chatter when the clutch is damp, but that's normal.

Let us know how everything goes please.

I noticed it after a 4 hour drive to Iowa last night, and then spent 30 minutes driving around listening to it, so it definitely isn't an issue that goes away after being warmed up. I also got super acquainted with my squeaky leafs last night too. lotta noises coming from the truck these days, hahahah.

I'm not a mechanic but I believe a throw out bearing only moves when the clutch is depressed. You would not here it driving around unless you depressed the clutch pedal.

This. If it's making noise when the clutch pedal is not depressed, then it's the pilot bearing. If it's noisy when you press the clutch pedal, then it's the throwout bearing.

Like @MOC221_, my pilot bearing squeals really bad when the weather is below freezing, but it goes away once the transmission warms up, or if I depress the clutch pedal.

I'm no expert on TOBs, but I do know what you're talking about WRT the pilot bearing/bushing that is normally in the ass end of the crank.

In the case of the 3rd gen 6-speed for V6 trucks (RC-62F), there is no pilot bearing and no snout on the end of the input shaft. I know, like WTF? It's in the service manual.

I’ve read that the URD Stage 2 clutch and heavy flywheel are a better combo for the 3rd Gen than the stage 3

When Trident shows up, he'll set us all straight WRT TOB symptoms (as his pretty much grenaded) and which URD clutch/flywheel he's running.

No shit? I'll have to check the manual. So what the hell is squealing when the clutch is at rest, the throwout bearing?

So after a day it stopped whining. Weird. but I am still going to keep looking into the new clutch. The stage 2 and flywheel upgrade look appealing.
