My wife had pretty much the same car when we met. Not sure what year it was. We got married in '91 so it was earlier that that. It leaked like crazy.

I dig concert stories. Best concert I've been to actually happened last year - Toadies, playing a trailer park on Possum Kingdom Lake. I've seen better productions, more talented musicians, and have had things happen that completely made me forget the concert for a few minutes. :anonymous: But Toadies reigns supreme for the best overall concert experience.

Being the unique venue of a trailer park, I immediately booked a site for two nights even before I bought concert tickets, and hauled my little popup camper there. It was an old fashioned Texas shindig the night before. One trailer brought jello shots to share, another brought barbeque, another had a beer pong tourney going until dawn. Instant neighbors became instant friends. There were two stages, the opening band went on just after noon the next day and Toadies didn't perform their encore until it was almost midnight. Main stage was 100 feet from my trailer. I got smashed the night before, woke up smashed, wandered into the concert smashed, and stumbled back to my trailer completely smashed. It was a most triumphant time.

Sometime in late afternoon one band finished their set on the main, and the crowd was shuffling towards the second stage as the next was setting up. Someone behind me asks how I'm doing. It was Vaden, the guitarist. He's there with the rest of the band, which im now face to face with. They started singing, unplugged, the song that defined my high school experience, "Possum Kingdom." While standing dockside. On Possum Kingdom Lake. Very Meta. After the song they hung out for a few minutes, disappearing just as the next band took the second stage. First and only time I got to shoot the shit with a band.

    Great story sir!
OK shits getting real coincidental here. I used to work with original members of The Toadies Lisa Umbarger and Charles Mooney before they were the Toadies. We worked at the Sound Warehouse on Camp Bowie. Todd Lewis worked at the Hulen Street Sound Warehouse. Lots of us band wannabees worked there. Never dreamed someone would go big! My band opened for them a few times back in the early 90's at The Mad Hatters club on Magnolia Ave. and the Engine Room downtown Fort Worth! Wow...

I was really into concerts during my high school and early 20s years but then I got a tacoma. So all my money qent to it and adventures. Seen a bunch of them from rap artist to country. Cant remember most of them as i was to :drunk:but that incubus concert at red rocks was stellar. I will never forget that show.

I think anything at Red Rocks will be "special". I've never been to a show there, but saw A Perfect Circle in concert at R.R. amphitheater on video. It was insanely good!

Living 30 miles past the boondocks is not good for getting to see concerts. I've been to three in my life. All after they were well past their prime and doing shows in small, out of the way venues. Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings and The Eagles in their Hell Freezes Over tour.
