Biggest concern I that I can figure is having a good spare, I have left Those roads with little holes I’m my tires a few times.

Elephant mountain to one of the golden road entrances, is maybe an hour drive.

If I was planning this, I would consider Moxie falls as a first stop, then logging roads (maybe trail) to Greenville, then to elephant mountain (B52 site), then to the trains.

Not my backyard yet, still a few hours ride, but do seem to get up that way a few times a year now. Still thinking how to best approach this group ride with the wife.

    Strongly recommend:
    -fire extinguisher
    -radio
    -basic recovery gear

Stock and 2wd trucks will be fine, this isn't a body damage kind of run, but you can go too fast and break shit.

I am planning on getting my ham license this weekend, is there a recommended radio I should get. My adventuring has always been solo so I want to play nice with my new friends.

So if we were planning on meeting up on Day 2 it will be in Greene? I am coming from New Hampshire and I may shave a day off for work.

Dang it Dave. You're going? Crap. Maybe I'll make a guest appearance if you're making the effort to come up.

    Nix that last statement Dave.

Let me know if you want to break up the travel and crash at my place.

Portland is more known for its crabs.....
    :D
Fact. Saw a Camery stock mob the heck out of part of it last year. Just need to be mindful of the culvurts that have dropped In on places. More greenfield rd the Golden though
I'll add to make sure everyone knows their recovery points. While they did a great job at updating the road to the b52, if you get caught in heavy rain the ground turns to soup in a matter of minutes.

Just grab a UV-5R and a mag antenna. Total cost is about $55. And when you go to upgrade your gear you'll always have a backup.

If you're looking for something more permanent right of the bat feel free to PM me and we can talk about options. And good luck on your test. Everyone there will be really friendly and cool guys. Really low stress deal. Will kind of feel like study hall in high school though haha

I’m assuming you are going on the golden road. By pittston farms? He a moose hunt in 2015 I think up there was 3 hours north of golden road good times. Wife has shot 4 moose being sub permity and got picked that year so I finally got my moose under sub. She hit a grab slam at 18. I’m interested in going would be available these dates as I’m dieing to get back up there? Would it be good if I bring my walker hound for ride campionship

Not sure. I know it's about 5-6 hrs to greenfield from here.

Greenfield is east side of Moosehead. To be honest I forgot where they're going in. But that's the outskirts of NwM

Yup. The road into the B52 is brand new as of just a year or two ago. Old road was being used for logging. Its pretty good gravel too
