I'm trying to remove my rear headrests as well, but there's no button at the base. I have an access cab, so those flip down headrests just get in the way.

I removed them and the seats on my '18 Sport Access Cab. You have to remove the top few clips on the back panel and unbolt the headrests.

Back panel needs to be partially pulled off but you need to remove the rectangle tabs first. I used a tool designed for cell phone repair. Inside are bolts which need to be removed prior to pulling on the panel near the top on both corners. There are rows of clips but only the top two need to be pulled to get access to the bolts which hold the headrests in. I used a balled up rag to keep the panel open and used a open end wrench with a string attached to it to prevent dropping it and never getting it out again. Takes awhile but once the bolts are out and the panel clips pulled out, you can pull out the headrests. A few years ago there is a thread in which I wrote how to do it in detail. Stupid design on the access cabs as the severely restrict vision in rear view mirror. So much better when they are out.

Thread was "Rear Access Cab headrests". Important points are do not pull on fabric covered area of panel and (3) plastic rectangular panels need to snapped out from the bottom. I used a plastic tool with a 90 degree lip on each side to pull out the red clips which hold the whole thing in. Also, forgot to mention, (2) plastic panels near headrests needs to be pulled out too.
